BizFAME 2021

The Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA Kedah Branch is pleased to host the International Virtual Conference on Business, Finance, Management and Economics (BizFAME) 2021 from 14-15 July 2021. BizFAME 2021 will be an interactive virtual conference with a blend of diverse knowledge sharing, inspiring webinar and networking opportunities.

Join us as we unfold and embrace the new norms affecting Business, Finance, Management and Economics from the perspective of our participants and presenters. In addition, the conference also offers publication opportunities to participants. All accepted papers will be considered to be published in the Voice of Academia (VOA), Journal of Creative Practices in Language Learning and Teaching (CPLT), or SCOPUS Journal.

In view of COVID-19 pandemic, now you can present your paper from the comfort of your home. Please submit to us your pre-recorded video presentation and slides. Dato Haji Nor Azman Bin Haji Mufti
Managing Director/CEO TNB Power Generation Sdn. Bhd.

Dato’ Haji Nor Azman bin Mufti is the Chief Power Generation Officer of Power Generation Division, Tenaga Nasional Berhad. Prior to the current appointment, he was the Vice President of Energy Ventures. He has served more than 35 years, holding various Generation portfolios in TNB namely, Managing Director of Remaco and Vice President of Energy Ventures. He is responsible to lead and drive GenCo towards new growth, increased efficiencies, business synergies and greater business development.

Dr. Keah-Choon Tan
University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Dr. Keah-Choon Tan is Professor of Operations Management in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He received a BSc degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of South Alabama, and a PhD in Operations Management from Michigan State University. He obtained the Institute for Supply Management's Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification, and the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification in 1996. He has published articles in the areas of supply chain management, quality and operations scheduling in academic journals and trade magazines including Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Omega, and Journal of Cleaner Production. He has also coauthored a supply chain management textbook entitled Principles of Supply Chain Management: A Balanced Approach, currently in its 5th edition. Dr. Tan has served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Department Chair in the Lee Business School at UNLV. In addition to serving as the co-track chair and on various committees of the Decision Sciences Institute, he has also served as the chief editor, co-guest editor and on the editorial boards of academic journals. Prior to academia, Dr. Tan was a hospital administrator at a private specialists hospital and an account comptroller of a listed manufacturing firm in Malaysia. Dr. Tan has received several research grants and teaching awards, including the UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award.

Prof Dr. Haji Mohamad Abdullah Bin Haji Hemdi

Rector, UiTM Kedah Branch

Professor Dr Mohamad Abdullah Bin Helmi is currently the Rector of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kedah Branch. Prior to the current appointment, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Hotel and tourism Management UiTM, Malaysia (2012–2018) and a Professor of Hospitality Human Resource Management. On scholarly contributions, Professor Hemdi was the Panel Experts Chairman for the development of Guidelines to Good Practices: Work-Based Learning (GGP:WBL) quality assurance document for Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). He was also appointed as the Deputy Chairman for the development of Guidelines for Implementation of 2u2i Mode of Study (an industry curriculum mode of study) for the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Professor Hemdi is also the Panel Experts Chairman for the development of the Program Standards for Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as panel expert members for the development of Code of Practice for TVET Program Accreditation (COPTPA) for MQA. Professor Hemdi has been appointed as a Member of Accreditation Committee for MQA for humanities and social science for the past eight years. He is also an Executive Committee Member of PATA (Pacific Asia Tourism Association) Malaysia Chapter and a member of Tourism Educators Association of Malaysia (TEAM). Professor Hemdi is an active researcher and has published a number of articles in high impact journals and conferences in the area of hospitality and tourism management, human resource management, employee attitudes and outcomes, tourism economic, technology and education. Professor Hemdi was awarded the Best Professor in Hospitality and Tourism Management (Education Leadership) by The Golden Tigers Award 2018.

Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa / CEO PT. Smart Training Indonesia

Lecturer in Management Department, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (UST), and Director / CEO PT. Smart Training Indonesia (STI). Dr. Syamsul Hadi holds a Doctorate degree in Economics and specializes in Human Resource. He has certified as a manager and assessor of human resource development management from BNSP (Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi). He is an active researcher and has published a number of articles in journals in the area of economics, human resource management, entrepreneurship (SME), with systematic review methods.

Bibliometric Analysis by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Aidi Ahmi
 

In conjunction with the International Virtual Conference, we are pleased to cordially invite all academicians and researchers to join our Research Webinar: Bibliometric Analysis by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Aidi Ahmi (UUM), which will be held on 15 July 2021. This workshop will train and guide participants in writing and publishing articles on bibliometric analysis in the high-indexed journal.

 

Speaker

Aidi Ahmi currently is an Associate Professor at The Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and a Deputy Director of Research and Innovation Management Centre (RIMC) of UUM.
 

He has authored and co-authored over 80% reviewed publications and successfully supervised 7 PhD scholars. His research area focused on AIS, Auditing, E-Commerce, Supply Chain and Sustainability.

 

Information about this research webinar:
1. This workshop will train and guide the participant to write and publish an article on bibliometric analysis as per high-indexed paper.
2.  A template will be shared to simplify the writing.
3.  The participant will be trained on how to gather the data from the Scopus database (it take less than 5 minutes to gather data from the Scopus database if you know the trick).
4.  The participant will also be guided on how to get the results, analyze and interpret the result to justify the contribution of the study to the knowledge.
5.  The bibliometric techniques and indicators will be explained and some tips and tricks to analyze some variables will be shared throughout the workshop.
6. Harzing’s Publish or Perish software also will be promoted as an alternative way to gather the data from the academic database.
7. VOSviewer will be introduced to develop the bibliometric networks for the data gathered from the academic databases.

Participants will be trained on how to gather the data from academic databases and interpret the results as part of the contributions in the specific research domain.
 
Tools
Suitable tools to analyse the bibliometric data such as VOSviewer and Harzings' pop will be introduced

In line with the International Virtual Conference on Business, Finance, Management, and Economics (BizFAME) 2021, the Faculty of Business & Management, UiTM Kedah Branch cordially invites Postgraduate students/Researchers from all over the world to participate in our Postgraduate Colloquium.

The aim of the colloquium is to provide a platform for postgraduates to improve their proposal and prepare for proposal defence (DRP) or viva voce.  Participants would benefit from the discussions and feedback from experienced researchers and thesis examiners.

Publications

All accepted papers shall be published in e-proceedings with eISSN (English or Malay). Only selected full papers (English only) will be considered for journal publications  in the following publication:

  2. Journal of Creative Practices in Language Learning and Teaching (CPLT), UiTM Kedah (Asian Citation Index)

  3. Selected full papers will be considered for publication in SCOPUS Journal - to be announced
